buddy loves the glider

Buddy found a new favorite spot. He has good taste -- its a pretty comfortable chair. So many new things to explore...

end of week 40

Ok, Tiny.

Come on now.....time to come out!! We are all ready for the big event, but Tiny is being shy. Hopefully things will start to progress because momma-to-be is ready to get the show on the road! The hospital bag is packed (sort of), the baby room is ready (for the most part), now we just need a some cooperation from the little one. Hopefully the next posting will be a baby photo! Time will tell....wish us luck!

end of week 39

Holy crap! I can't believe we're almost there....any day now things should get moving. My belly (and generous love handles) measures 42 inches. I feel much bigger, but I guess its not that much more than a few weeks ago. Things must be getting pretty tight in there for Tiny....hopefully tight enough to encourage an outing into the big bright world! We're all set with preparations and now we'll just sit back and relax....

end of week 37

Well we are officially in the home stretch! By the end of this week Tiny will be full term. We're pretty ready for the big arrival -- although not sure that Buddy would agree. I'm starting to feel big and having a little trouble finding comfortable positions sitting and laying down, but generally I feel quite good. Tiny is still shifting around pretty often and the parts jutting out can be wacky at times. Looking forward to my next OB appointment when they start checking me for dilation. As of today's appointment, Tiny is head down and on deck....

Turkey Day Race

Here are some fun shots from the Turkey Day Race in Manchester, CT. Dad, Murphy and I were at mile 4 cheering on the runners!! As you can see -- there was a costume competition this year!
My trusty side-kick.
The fanfare...
The first runner....is that Chris right on his tail?

Rockfest with Sam & Allison

We rocked the house this weekend with Sam & Allison and Chris's new Guitar Hero World Tour wii game. We had a great time butchering Beastie Boys, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Steve Miller Band...we may need to take our show on the road.

end of week 35

Another 2 weeks down since the last posting -- can't believe how time is flying by!! My belly measures 41 inches this morning. I'm still feeling pretty good. My feet get a little tired by the end of the day, and my lower legs and feet are starting to swell a bit -- but all manageable complaints! Tiny is still kicking up a storm and we're getting more prepared for his/her arrival. Both sets of grandparents to-be have been incredibly generous in getting the nursery started so we're feeling in good shape and grateful for the help. Can't believe only 5 weeks (or so) to go....

end of week 33

Belly is measuring around 40 and a half inches and I'm starting to feel a little big! Getting comfortable on the couch and in bed is getting a little tougher, but otherwise -- still feel good. We picked up a dresser for Tiny's room this weekend, so we're getting there, slowly but surely....not much else to report. Enjoying our visit with Michael and looking forward to Deb and Lynn coming on Thursday!!

end of week 32

Here's a special treat....a photo with my favorite little Halloween kitty. Still feeling pretty good. Getting a good night's rest is becoming more challenging, and Tums after dinner is becoming a nightly ritual -- but otherwise, all is great! We took a childbirth class this weekend, which was a real eye-opener. Oh well, no turning back now....My belly is now at 40 and a half inches and the belly button is sticking out a bit. More next week!

end of week 30

Wow -- I can't believe we're already in the week 30s.....that means that Tiny will be showing up (hopefully) in the next 2 months! Pretty crazy. My belly is still hovering around 39 inches and I'm continuing to feel really good. I'm particularly enjoying the periodic dance parties hosted by my little friend. This kid is a mover and a shaker. My only minor complaints are hip aches and some indigestion at bedtime, but other than that -- doing great! We're continuing to get prepared for Tiny's arrival. We finally ordered a crib, bought a kid-friendly car, decided on a pediatrician....and now for the rest of the "stuff." So much to think about these next few weeks....

Apple Picking

October 4th we went apple picking at Shelburn Farm, our favorite apple spot. Picked some great McGowens, Cortlands and Empire apples to bring home and ate a bunch along the way -- no harm in that, right? It was a fun way to spend an absolutely beautiful fall afternoon. Of course we had to say hello to the local farm animals -- with particular attention to our favorite -- goats!
